Nursing Home

Our ministry to the elderly at Boca Raton Health and Rehabilitation Center is one that involves both our clergy and lay people. Father Andrew and Mother Debbie offer a Eucharist Service on the fourth Wednesday of the month. They are graciously received by both the patients and the staff. Our deacon, Anita Thorstad, leads an Evening Prayer service every Saturday afternoon. Lay volunteers who interact with the patients and provide piano accompaniment for the singing of hymns assist Deacon Anita. Deacon Anita offers Holy Communion after the service and visits the patients who are unable to get out of bed to attend the service.

At Christmas time, our parishioners provided over 90 gifts for the patients and we held a Christmas party after the prayer service on the Saturday before Christmas. Two youth group boys helped with transporting the gifts and distribution. In addition to the Saturday service, Deacon Anita is available for private visits to patients.
