A Family Portion of the Stations of the Cross

On Friday evening, March 7, the Simple Gifts Eucharist team with assistance from our priests Andrew and Debbie, led a family-sized version of Stations of the Cross around the outside perimeter of Harris Hall.

Children took turns reading the narratives at each stop of the Way of the Cross, and were given a "sense" of what the journey was like for Jesus. They touched the crown of thorns, they carried the cross, they tasted the vinegar water, they moved the "stone" in front of the burial cave.

The procession made its way around the side and back gardens, while singing "Kum ba yah." At the bitter end, adults and children sang "Were You There," and when they had returned to the courtyard where they had started, they sang a haunting verse of "Wondrous Love."
