A SLICE OF HEAVEN - THE HOMELESS COALITION EVENT AT ST. GREGORY'S
There was a buzz in the air this past Monday. Or as Fr Andrew put it, "a slice of heaven".
Thanks to the Homeless Coalition of PBC, we at St. Gregory's were selected to be the host site of the inaugural Project Homeless Connect. Our own Harris Hall was the destination for our beloved homeless guests to meet and engage with any and all of the 30 organizations offering incredible resources. The Lord's Place, 211, CROS Ministries, The Salvation Army, VA Center, PBC Legal Aid, and Showering Love (shower bus), were just a few of the groups that showed up for this amazing day. We were grateful to have both our mayor and city manager stop by to support this meaningful effort. But most of all, we were grateful to everyone showing up for those who are most overlooked. The joy and hope that filled our campus was one that is similar to a child on Christmas morning. Just as they are ready to open the presents, the excitement and hope of what's to come brings joy to those all around.
If you haven't already, please click here to watch the video, which Fr. Andrew and I recorded during the event. Come, see, and feel the buzz in the air.
May this slice of heaven carry on as we work together with our community partners to care for those in need.
Thanks be to God!
