JUNETEENTH CELEBRATION OF FREEDOM

St. Gregory’s Beloved Community Committee and Ministry welcomes all to join us for a rousing celebration of Juneteenth on Saturday, June 21, starting at 5 PM with a blessing for the evening in the Sanctuary.

Juneteenth designates a time for all Americans to reflect on the end of slavery, a time when we lament, and a time when we celebrate freedom for God’s children. We are joyful to belong to a beloved community at St. Gregory’s where all are welcomed in Christ’s name. It is a time when we praise God for his love and forgiveness.

In the sanctuary, we’ll have a wonderful service of remembrance, and a joyful concert by the Resurrection Steel Pan Drum Orchestra, a 17– piece group that will render songs of praise and thankfulness.

Following the service, we’ll have a reception in Harris Hall with food, crafts for children, story-telling and more music by DJ Ed McDonald.   A great opportunity for social time.

This is a free event, so all we ask is that you bring a dish to share, maybe something that fits the occasion (definitely not required). Please register for the event by using te link below or pick up a handout on the Welcome table. There will be an information table at Coffee hour on Sunday to register or get more information.

We are really looking forward to a great time of celebrating freedom!

Thank you and God bless,

Cyndi Bloom
