Mary Magdalene appears 12 times in the gospels, more than most apostles. And she is recorded by all four gospels as being the first witness to the resurrection, as well as a witness to his crucifixion and burial. She stuck by Jesus, when most didn't, through the very end and witnessed his new beginning as the risen Christ. So much old literature has Mary trapped as a possessed prostitute, but history and even the very Bible itself proves this characterization to be completely false. With that in mind, we will be getting to know the real Mary Magdalene through the eyes of scripture as the beloved apostle's apostle and the model of Unitive Wisdom and Redemptive Love.
