DIOCESAN YOUTH SERVICE

This past Sunday, April 26, the Chapel of St. Andrew hosted a diocesan youth service.  The service was originally envisioned by Deacon Faye Somers, who was so inspired by the youth who spoke about their faith journeys at the last diocesan convention that she wanted to create a special service to share these messages with other youth.  Sadly, Deacon Faye passed away earlier this year.  However, this special service was a witness to her continuing legacy in our diocese.  We offer deep thanks to all at the Chapel who brought Deacon Faye’s vision to life.

A group of ten from St. Gregory’s, consisting of parents and youth attended the service.  The highlights were the messages offered during the sermon time by three young people about their faith and how it shapes their lives.  Their heartfelt words offered empathy for those who struggle as well as inspiration and hope for walking the Way of Christ.  Their messages were equally moving for both teens and adults and it was a blessing for all of us who were present.  Thanks be to God!
