HOLY WEEK AND EASTER SUNDAY AT ST. GREGORY'S
In this joyful season of Eastertide, I find myself reflecting with deep gratitude on the sacred journey we have just shared. Holy Week and Easter stand at the very heart of our life of faith—days in which we walk the path of Christ’s passion, dwell in the stillness of the tomb, and ultimately rejoice in the radiant hope of the Resurrection. It is a holy rhythm that invites us, year after year, to be renewed, strengthened, and reminded that life and love, by God’s grace, always prevail.
This year at St. Gregory’s, that sacred journey was especially meaningful. From Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday, our services were marked by reverence, beauty, and a profound sense of God’s presence among us. Our Good Friday Stations of the Cross were among the most moving in recent memory, and I am deeply grateful to all who read and participated so thoughtfully in that solemn observance.
Easter Sunday began beautifully with our 6:30 AM Beach Eucharist, a sacred and joyful gathering at sunrise. My sincere thanks to our dedicated volunteers who made this service possible, and to all who joined us to begin the day in such a meaningful and memorable way.
Easter Sunday continued with joy and celebration. Following the 9:00 AM service, more than 50 parishioners and friends gathered for our Easter Egg Hunt, a delightful expression of community and shared joy. My sincere thanks to Leanda Robinson and Silvia Hall for creating such a wonderful experience for all who attended.
The beauty of our worship throughout Holy Week and Easter Sunday was enriched by the extraordinary music offered by Tim Brumfield, and the Choir of St. Gregory’s. Their gifts continue to elevate our liturgy and open our hearts more fully to the presence of God. I would also like to extend special thanks to Louis Birro for the outstanding quality of his work with livestreaming our services, allowing so many to participate from afar.
I am also deeply grateful to our dedicated staff and clergy, and the many volunteers whose tireless efforts made this holy season so seamless and meaningful. It truly takes a devoted community to offer worship of this depth and beauty
May the joy of the Resurrection continue to guide us through this season of Eastertide and beyond.
In Christ,
