THE SOUTH FLORIDA HAITI PROJECT

THE SOUTH FLORIDA HAITI PROJECT

For twenty years, the South Florida Haiti Project (SFHP), which started at St. Gregory's, has been partnering with Bon Samaritain ("Good Samaritan")

Episcopal Church and School in Bondeau, Haiti. What began as a small project, in which St. Gregory's provided vitamin supplements for children in the community, has evolved, with God's grace, into a partnership that supports a school serving over 500 children. In the past year, new school buildings were built through our partnership with Food for the Poor. We have also constructed a water filtration system that not only provides drinking water for the community but also functions as a small business that enables the congregation to sell water to surrounding communities. This project is powered by solar panels, which also power all the school classrooms and the church building. The community also receives health care through our partnership with a non-profit health care project located near Bondeau and the presence of our school and community nurse.

Every day, children are educated and fed, fresh water is available, sustainable economic projects are developing, and health care is accessible because of the South Florida Haiti Project. The SFHP is supported by several churches in our diocese, grants from a number of partnering organizations, and support from individual donors. Truly, with God's grace, the South Florida Haiti Project is making a difference.

In Christ,
